On Saturday, April 22 I had the honor of facilitating a Nature Therapy Group Walk in partnership with Community in Connection in Bernardsville, NJ. Participants had the opportunity to use Mine Hill Trail and use their senses to gather information and debrief their experience.We gave a moment of silence and acknowledged the Native American tribe that once lived here the Munsee Lenape, and the beliefs they lived by: Never take more than you need, Give thanks for what you have, Use all of what we have, and Give away what you do not need.
We talked about the science behind the healing power of nature and suggested "doses" of nature: 30 minutes a day, 2 hours a week,one1 weekend a month and one longer trip a year.
